I spent my childhood exploring the wooded campus of my school in Chennai, India. Before, during, and after every school day, I watched the many birds, snakes, lizards and insects that nested, crept and crawled under rocks or climbed gnarly tree branches. It wasn’t long before I started placing the camera’s frame around my fascination with nature.
For me, nature includes not just deep jungles and high mountain peaks, but also urban city parks, farmland and new growth forests. In fact, it is in the borderlands between worlds that I find nature and its energies most intriguing.
Working in both film and digital, I seek out moments which reveal processes of transformation. I walk and observe the world change around me. I wait for the image to reveal itself.
